Dear Pastor and beloved Church,
Greetings from the hot and rainy Peruvian jungle.
Joaquin has just turned 14 years old and he is a very calm and quiet young man who does not talk much. He wants to study medicine when he finishes school, really likes to play soccer, and in this stage of adolescence loves spending time with his friends. Please support us by praying for him so that in this new stage of his life his heart does not go astray, but that everything he has learned from the Word of God since he was a child he puts into practice to guide his life with wisdom.
Leonardo is our little extrovert who doesn’t measure danger. He loves to talk all day long and only stops when he is sleeping or reading, which he enjoys very much. The senior pastor of the local church refers to him as the little helper missionary and for now Leonardo says that when he grows up, he will be a pastor, missionary, pilot, etc. His birthday is December 30 and he is counting the days. He wants to eat his favorite cake which is 3 Milks.
To end the year, we had planned to hold a Full Day celebration for people with different abilities on our property here in Pucallpa. That is why, thanks to God and the help of brothers in faith, we were able to build the bathroom facilities. Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to hold the celebration because we had an infestation of bats living between the walls of the house, which emanated a horrible smell that made it impossible to live there. We tried to scare them away by different means, but it was not possible. The only solution was to dismantle part of the house and, although the rainy season has already started, we still had to solve it. So, JP is staying and then before the year ends, he will have one more trip to the mountains to minister to people who accepted the Lord and are new to the faith.
As you know, the Lord allows us to minister in the local church of Yarinacocha. Once or twice a month Juan Pablo preaches from the pulpit and teaches the Bible to a group of 16 people. From among them, we have organized groups of leaders to minister to families in their homes and the groups have multiplied. Likewise, every year, the Lord allows us to celebrate a ceremony that we call “The Feast of the Covenant.” This year we have five families who, after accepting Jesus, understand that this decision leads them to honor the Lord and the person with whom they share their lives.
We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your faithfulness in supporting us with your prayers and offerings, which allows us to cover our family and ministry needs.
Hugs from all the Garcias and may you have a beautiful Thanksgiving celebration .
God bless you,
Juan Pablo & Marianela García.
